Rockford TV stations are reporting a shooting at the CherryVale Mall.

UPDATE: Multiple news outlets are reporting the victim was shot outside the mall and died from his injuries.

Winnebago County Sheriff Gary Caruana says a call of shots fired came in around 4:15 p.m. today. At this point, Caruana believes one car is involved, but deputies are still investigating.

According to MyStateline.com, this afternoon has been a tragic one near the CherryVale Mall.

While there isn't too much information out yet about this situation, the MyStateline news team is reporting that the Police are responding to a shooting.

MyStateline says, 'Police scanner traffic indicting there is at least one victim. It's not clear if the shooting happened inside or outside the mall. Police were looking for a dark colored SUV reportedly seen outside Macy's.'

The story also mentions one victim, condition unknown.
