Not this season, of course, that would be a record.

Only the San Franciso (neé New York) Giants have more wins as a ballclub with 11,179 victories.

The Cubs moved to an all-time record of 11,000-10,414 with a win over the Tigers Monday night, making them only the second MLB team to eclipse the 11K win mark.

An interesting note from Cubs TV broadcaster Len Kasper during Monday night's game. The Cubs are the only team to never be below .500 in team history. They won their first game ever played back in 1876 and have never seen the loss column grow bigger than the win column.

The Dodgers, who like the Giants have split time between New York and California are close behind the Cubs with 10,996 wins, so they should see the 11K mark as early as later this week.

You can listen to the Cubs go for 11,001 right here on 1440 WROK starting at 6:10 Tuesday night against the Tigers. While you're listening, you can enter our contest to win an official Cubs "Fly the W" flag and $50 to Maciano's. You can find all the details here.
