Get ready to show your blue and orange pride, alumni.

If I could go back in time, I would probably go to a different college.

Not that I didn't get a great education at Drake University, but I didn't realize that I was going to an out of state private school that was incredibly more expensive than some in-house options over here in Illinois.

I blame myself, we could get into that giant discussion over margaritas sometime.

But if time travel existed I would change my college plan, and chances are I would've ended up at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, or U of I (for anyone that does not live in Iowa).

Which would've been a smart choice, as it is ranked 22 on Time's list of 100 colleges that are the 'best for your money.'

Sorry, future me who will still be paying students loans til I'm retired.

A total of four Illinois schools made Time's list: U of I, The University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago and the Illinois Institute of Technology.

The list is based on a combo of educational quality, affordability, and alumni success.

Other Midwest schools on the list include: University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, Michigan State University, Purdue University, University of Notre Dame, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Mount Mercy University and Michigan Technological University.
