Known for its parks, museums, and university this Illinois town is getting national attention from HGTV for being up-and-coming.

It's not a big town (actually, it's considered two) but out of 30 only one midwestern town makes the list of being the place to be. Champaign-Urbana. HGTV says,

Strong ties to the tech industry have bumped up wages and employment, making this quite a desirable destination for putting down roots.

I have not had the chance to visit iChampign-Urbana, but from people, I have spoken with it is one of the towns that doesn't seem to get a lot of credit. Home to the University of Illinois at Champogn-Urbana, this town has Crystal Lake Park, the Krannert Art Museum, and the Spurlock Museum.

Not only does the town get the green light from HGTV, but it seems that it's not a very expensive place to call home. Payscale puts the cost of living in Chamrpign-Urbana 12% lower than the national average. Not bad for a town with over 120,000 people and a major university in it.
