Right now it's so hard to think about spending money in a big city, but one city in Illinois is getting national recognition for being a place to live, work, and play.

Windy City

We love visiting Chicago. It's one of my family's favorite places to visit and a new survey puts the Windy City in a good light. Chicago is ranked second by Resonance's list of the best cities in America.

The survey looked at nightlife, employment opportunities, and education among others. Now, the city is always on the list of crime, and worst cities to live in, but I feel like all major big cities get a bad rap. And yes, there are places you don't go, but I never feel unsafe in the city.

Chicago is also home to the second-most Fortune 500 headquarters in the country, behind New York, and ranks in the top five in several prosperity categories like job postings and professional services.

New York takes the top spot, followed by Chicago, LA, Miami and Vegas. All great cities to live, play, work, and visit. Vegas is on my bucket list I will make it there (some year). Sadly, no Missouri city made the list, but you know I love visiting KC and St. Louis.
