Illinois 10 Best High Schools for 2025 Suddenly Includes a New #1

There's a new king of the hill when it comes to high schools in Illinois. A prestigious new ranking of the best of the best in the Land of Lincoln suddenly includes a new #1.

Out of more than 25,000 high schools nationwide, US News & World Report ranked 673. Out of those have emerged the best of the best including the 10 best high schools in Illinois.

There are some interesting changes in this brand new 2025 list. What was previously the #1 high school in the state of Illinois is now #6 and the new highest-ranked school carries the name of one of Illinois' all-time great athletes.
