Burger Chain with Illinois Place Suddenly May Declare Bankruptcy
Any business owner will tell you that profits come and profits go and the outlook can turn on a dime with changing conditions. That appears to be the case for a burger chain that has a location in Illinois that says it suddenly may be declaring bankruptcy based on a new report.
If you want to know how a business is doing, keep an eye on filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. That will sometimes foretell what's on the horizon for a business which is what just happened according to a new report from Nation's Restaurant News. They say that a form just submitted by BurgerFi now suddenly shows trouble is brewing. In the form, they said "significant adverse developments with respect to the business and liquidity". It goes on to say there is "substantial doubt about the company’s ability to continue to operate".
According to BurgerFi's website, they currently have a location at 1735 Milwaukee Avenue in Glenview, Illinois.
The company also owns Anthony's Coal-Fired Pizza and Wings, but there are no Illinois locations of that brand.
It's important to note that BurgerFi has not declared bankruptcy as of the date of this writing, but is based on speculation by Nation's Restaurant News based on the SEC form submission.
