Illinois Woman Accused of Leaving 2 Kids in Hot Car for Hours
A woman in Illinois is accused of leaving 2 children in a hot car for hours resulting in one child's death and serious injuries for the other according to Illinois State Police.
This sad story was shared in a press release by the Illinois State Police on Tuesday, July 17. They say that 36-year-old Adreian D.A. Hooper of Fairfield, Illinois allegedly left a 1-year-old boy and a 2-year-old boy in a hot car for multiple hours on July 14, 2024. The 1-year-old died and the 2-year-old suffered serious injuries as a result.
Adreian D.A. Hooper of Fairfield, Illinois is accused of Involuntary Manslaughter (Class 2 Felony), Endangering the Life of a Child - Death (Class 3 Felony), Reckless Conduct (Class 4 Felony), and Endangering the Life of a Child (Class A Misdemeanor). The charges were officially filed on July 16, 2024 by the Wayne County, Illinois State Attorney's Office.
The Illinois State Police added the following important note: "The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law."
Adreian D.A. Hooper is currently being held at the Wayne County, Illinois jail.
