The Most Expensive Missouri High School Now Closed in Disgrace?
I was slightly familiar with this Missouri high school, but there were two very important things I was not aware of. First, I did not know that the tuition made it the most costly high school in the state of Missouri and I did not know that it has apparently closed in disgrace.
Education A Lot just shared an interesting summary of the most expensive high schools in every single state. The choice for Missouri is...interesting for a number of reasons. They say that it was (past tense) Agape Boarding School near Stockton, Missouri. They claim the tuition used to be (yes, past tense again) $48,000 per year.
According to Google, the Agape Boarding School is now permanently closed and I understand why based on what I've learned.
Wikipedia documents many criminal charges and lawsuits including horrific sex abuse crimes against a former physician there and a wrongful death lawsuit, too.
Ozarks First is reporting that a new school had plans to open on the same grounds that it previously occupied, but I can't find any confirmation that its permits were approved and ever opened.
I'm not familiar with the charges against Agape. The only thing I'm fairly certain about at this point was that was extremely costly and doesn't appear to exist anymore. What a twisted mess.
