I'm not trying to alarm you. Instead, I'm trying to pass along some information that should keep you from calling the police or reaching for a firearm in a little over a week's time.

Then again, your own personal feelings may be different about the people who will, more than likely, show up unannounced and uninvited to sneak around on your front porch with something they intend to leave for you.

And, when those intruders are done at your place, they'll probably have several other homes on their list that they'll want to check off before the night is over. The worst of the worst will more than likely come back to see you again and again...with more of what they dropped off the first time.

You're Probably Wondering What Kind Of Monsters Will Be Sneaking Up Onto Your Porch, And What Could They Possibly Have For You?

First off, your late night visitors on August 8th are probably not monsters, or even bad people. They're just people who've made a big mistake, and they are under a lot of pressure to fix that mistake.

As to what they could possibly have for you that they have to creep onto your porch late at night to drop off, here's a few clues:

  • What can't you give away fast enough?
  • What seems to double in size overnight?
  • What could be the thing that they're giving you that they don't ever, and I mean ever, want back?
  • What do we have so much of that we have to have a national day to deal with it that encourages front porch trespassing?

August 8th Is "National Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor's Porch Day" In Illinois, And There Are Definitely Going To Be People Trying To Get Rid Of Their Huge Supply

And they don't want you to return the favor. Ever. They didn't realize just how prolific the humble zucchini plant can be when they planted it, and now their backyard garden is producing enough zucchini to feed a small country.

In short, it's right around this time of year that zucchini growers start to get a little nuts.

Before you throw away the 1-27 bags you'll probably wind up with, keep in mind that zucchini is really good for you and offers some great health benefits:

Even though most think zucchini is a vegetable, it's actually a fruit because it comes from a flower. Those flowers can be eaten.

    • A zucchini has more potassium than a banana.
    • The best flavor comes from small and medium sized zucchini
    • Zucchinis are 95% water, which makes them a low-calorie food.
    • Zucchinis are high in vitamins A and C, and they're a great source of fiber.
