An ambulance was stolen from a Chicago Fire Department station on the South Side Tuesday night, police said.

 

The ambulance was recovered by a patrol unit a short time later about three miles away in the 2600-block of South Wolcott Avenue.

Gutsy Car Thief In Illinois

I have to say, this car thief is one brave person. The suspect who sneaks into a fire station and steals an official vehicle either has a lot of guts is a complete idiot or a little bit of both. It's basically a dumb criminal committing a stupid crime. I'm guessing it was a joyride because the ambulance was found pretty much immediately.
