Soldier Field Takes The Summer Concert Scene By Storm
When it comes to outdoor summer concerts, there is a new sheriff in town, and this Illinois venue is ready to dominate.
Soldier Field Has Record Year Hosting Summer Concerts
The winters in northern Illinois can get pretty brutal. Some years, they last a long time with cold, ice, wind, and snow. I believe that is why, during the summer months, the residents of our state want to be outdoors as much as possible, especially for concerts.
This area has always been a great location for outdoor venues. Through the years, most of the summer shows are at "shed" like venues with a covered pavilion with assigned seats and a general admission lawn. Fans enjoy shows at those places.
In recent years, non-typical concert venues like Wrigley Field have stepped up to the plate and brought in some massive talent. Of course, Soldier Field has booked shows here and there, but nothing really consistent.

This year, Soldier Field has upped its game, hosting over a dozen shows, including five sold-out concerts in back-to-back days. That's going to be hard to beat for the other venues in the area. Looks like they might be preparing for life after the Bears.
According to WGN TV...
“We’ve done some of the greatest shows ever, the Grateful Dead’s final show, Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, you name it, but five nights, four different bands, four different productions, this is unique,” LeFevour said.
The planning for any show, especially five back-to-back, includes everything from logistics to security, working with promoters, preparing for weather scenarios, coordinating with production teams, and getting ready to execute day-of.
“You’ll have 3,000 employees a day and over the next five days we’ll have 250,000 people at Soldier Field and that’s just something spectacular,” LeFevour said.
