Thieves in Wisconsin stole the horns out of a couple of antique trains, and now the local police are looking for help to track down the suspects.

When I was a kid, I was a big fan of trains. My dad and I had an awesome model railroad set. We would take the Metra into Chicago for big events. Plus, my parents would take me to train museums whenever we ran across one. Of course, any amusement park that had one, we would definitely ride it before we left.

Even though trains aren't as popular as they were when I was growing up. They are still an important part of the delivery and travel business. Also, there are still collectors out there looking for some valuable antiques for their collections.
Recently, a train robbery happened in Wisconsin. No, it wasn't a holdup for the valuable contents aboard the transportation. In this case, the thieves stole the horns from two vintage trains. Those are legally required for any moving train. Also, since they were old engines, they are very difficult and expensive to replace.

Train horns were stolen from two historic locomotives in Wausaukee just off of U.S. Route 141 late last week, according to train enthusiasts.
The horns are valued at about $2,000 per set, and one train is 70 years old while the other is 55.
He explained that the criminal would have needed to have a thorough knowledge of the train, be equipped with the right tools to cut the wires, and remove the horns.
When it comes to thieves in Wisconsin, nothing is off limits. They'll steal anything if they believe it's worth money. This train horn robbery is the perfect example of the theft problem in the state.
