A couple of years ago, Illinois Governor J.D. Pritzker actually thanked Wisconsin for not legalizing cannabis because their residents are spending lots of money on marijuana here. A County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin is reminding residents that just because marijuana is legal to purchase in one state, it doesn’t make it legal to use in Wisconsin.

“If you’re going to Michigan or Minnesota to visit your drug dealer, don’t bring your ‘legal’ weed to Douglas County,” the post said. “It’s not legal in Wisconsin.”

So remember, if you travel up to Wisconsin this summer, be careful if you bring weed with you because it's still illegal there, and the police aren't going to give you a free pass just because you're from Illinois.
