An elegant mansion called Black Point Estate in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin was built in the late 19th century and has been beautifully and authentically preserved ever since making it a popular tourist destination in Wisconsin.

The History of Black Point Estate

The history of the estate is fascinating.  Black Point Estate was built in 1888 by Chicago beer baron, Conrad Seipp. It served as a relaxing and fun summer residence for his family and is "considered one of the finest examples of period architecture and furniture in the Midwest, and one of the oldest homes in Lake Geneva" according to the Estate's website.

This home was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994 and it, along with the gardens surrounding it, have been beautifully preserved to reflect its late 1800s roots.

Today, the estate is maintained by the Black Point Estate and Gardens Foundation and is open for tours. During the tour, visitors can learn about the history of the estate and the families who lived there. It's a unique opportunity to step back in time and learn about the life of wealthy families in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
