Fact: We Don't All Live On Farms

Another thing that grinds our gears is when visitors ask if we all live on farms. Sure, Illinois is known for its agriculture, but that doesn't mean we all live on farms. We have big cities, small towns, and everything in between. So please don't assume that we all have cows and pigs in our backyard.

Windy City is a nickname that was given to the city in the late 1800s because of the politicians and their windy speeches. Lastly, please don't ask us if we've ever met Oprah Winfrey. Of course, we haven't, she's Oprah Winfrey, and she's way too important to hang out with the likes of us. But we'll tell you what, you can come back and ask us again if you ever meet her and tell her hello from us.
