Are you ready for Tax Day? WalletHub released its 2023 Taxpayer Survey and yearly report on the States with the Highest & Lowest Tax Rates. According to the survey, 81% of people are more worried about inflation than taxes this year. Wow, sounds like we need to stop buying avocado toast and focus on the essentials.

The survey also found that 73% of people don't think the government spends its tax dollars wisely. But let's be honest, have you seen some of those government-funded projects? Like that bridge to nowhere? Classic!

When it comes to Tax Day fears, almost 34% of people are worried about not having enough money to pay taxes. Sounds like they should try robbing a bank instead, it's a lot more fun. But be warned, it may also get you audited, which is the second biggest Tax Day fear for 22% of respondents.

Some people are even considering moving to a different country for a tax-free future. Good luck with that, have fun trying to understand the metric system and deciphering foreign tax codes. And if you're really desperate to avoid taxes, 37% of people are willing to get an "IRS" tattoo. That's commitment!

But 26% of people would miss a connecting flight to avoid taxes. Just remember, you can't escape the taxman, even if you're stuck at an airport in the middle of nowhere.

All in all, the survey found that 72% of people think their current tax rate is too high. But don't worry, Tax Day is on April 18th this year, giving you a few extra days to procrastinate before the inevitable. So, let's all take a deep breath, do our taxes, and maybe treat ourselves to a slice of pizza. You've earned it!
