Milder Start Before a Dip

We'll enjoy one more mild day on Tuesday (1/13), with temperatures around 50 in the Rockford region and around Chicagoland. Highs in Wisconsin will hit around 50 for Beloit and Janesville on Tuesday.

There is a slight chance of rain showers later on Tuesday, as clouds are expected to take over in the afternoon, according to the Weather Channel forecast.

Lows on Tuesday night drop into the mid-20s, and it will barely get much warmer on Wednesday (1/14) with highs in the upper 20s with wind gusts over 30 mph possible.

Snow Chances Increase Into the Weekend

The Weather Channel is predicting a 60 percent chance of snow showers for Rockford beginning Thursday night (1/15), with up to 3 inches of accumulation possible by Friday morning (1/16).

High will be around 32 in Rockford on Friday, where more snow showers are forecast for the afternoon, and will develop again after midnight with lows around 11, according to the Weather Channel.

Accuweather forecast as of 3 pm on Tuesday (1/13) is predicting 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation around Rockford "late Thursday evening through Friday evening."

Flurries and snow showers are possible on Saturday (1/17) and Sunday (1/18), with highs both days in the teens, and lows will be in the single digits and subzero windchills.

Weather Forecast for Bears Playoff Game on Sunday

The Chicago Bears will play the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs at Soldier Field on Sunday (1/18) at 5:30 pm, and the latest forecast is brutally cold.

There's currently about a 20 percent chance of flurries or snow showers in Chicago on Sunday, with a high of 14. Temperatures at kickoff could feel like single digits, with the low on Sunday night expected to be 9 degrees.
