
Winnebago County Coroner Identifies Victim in Fatal South Main Crash
The identity of a man who was killed in a Winnebago County rollover crash on Saturday morning has been revealed.
Early Morning Crash Claims Life in Winnebago County
The Winnebago County Coroner's Office has identified the victim of a deadly crash that occurred early on Saturday morning (11/1) near South Main Street and Prairie Road.
According to the press release from the Coroner's Office, the man who was killed was 49-year-old Bradley Acaley of Mt. Morris.
Authorities Respond to Rollover Crash
According to preliminary reports, around 2:08 am on Saturday (11/1), Acaley was driving southbound on Prairie Road when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll over.
Deputies from the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, area fire departments, and MD-1 emergency medical responders were dispatched to the scene.
When arriving on the scene, first responders found Acaley unresponsive inside the vehicle. Despite immediate medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 2:58 am.
Cause of Death and Ongoing Investigation
According to a press release from the Winnebago County Coroner, an autopsy later determined that Acaley died from blunt head trauma sustained during the crash, and he was the only occupant of the vehicle.
The Coroner's Office and the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office continue to investigate the cause of the accident. This story will be updated as more information is released.
