I seem to remember hearing more than once over the past 10 to 15 years that the last time you could see the "King of Country" live on tour was about to happen.

And according to our friends at The Boot, it was just over a decade ago (September 26, 2012) that George Strait announced he was "retiring from touring."

His "final stop" on the Cowboy Rides Away Tour in Arlington, Texas on June 7, 2012, had a record crowd of over 104,000, according to The Boot. Then it was a Las Vegas residency that brought King George back to the stage, along with a couple of shows off the strip.

Now it's another once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see George Strait on tour again as he brings a stadium show to only six locations across America next Summer.

From May to mid-August of 2023, George will welcome Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town for these stadium shows that will begin in the desert on May 6 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Then the 89-time platinum icon will bring the show to Milwaukee on the first Saturday in June (6/3) for a performance at American Family Field (what I will always call Miller Park).

George Strait, Chris Stapleton, and Little Big Town will play two other Saturdays in June out west. In Seattle at Lumen Field on June 17, and then in Denver at Mile High Stadium on June 24.

The final two shows will be at the NFL football stadiums in Nashville on July 29, and in Tampa on August 5.

Tickets for all six shows will go on sale to the general public next Friday, November 4 at 10 am local time, according to the press release. But, there is a way to get your tickets early.

American Express Card Members can purchase tickets beginning this Wednesday, October 26 at 10 am through Thursday, November 3.

When I walk through those curtains and see those smiling faces, my feet don’t touch the ground again ‘til I walk back out and get on that bus that got me there. That’s from a song I wrote called ‘I’ll Always Remember You.’ It’s a true statement. When we talked about doing these six shows next year with Chris, it was a no brainer for me. I was all in. -George Strait via interview with Billboard about stadium tour announcement
