
Why Some People Love Illinois and Others Can’t Wait to Leave
Illinois is one of those states that always sparks debate the second you bring it up. Some people will say how much they love it, but others will hate on it to no end.

On one hand, Illinois has a lot to offer. Chicago alone is a world-class city with diverse food options, sports teams, and tons of culture. Then, you have small-town festivals, apple orchards, Friday night football games, and farmers markets.
Within a couple hours from all of that, you're in the middle of cornfields.
Despite what outsiders say, Midwest living never gets old (according to me!). We get every season! It might be unpredictable, but it's the beauty of being able to experience every single season Mother Nature has to offer. Not all states get that, and not everyone has seen snow in person!
Illinois does have its struggles, though. Believe me.
High taxes, winters can be brutal, and sometimes potholes outnumber us. Luckily, with the amount of construction always happening, potholes do get fill pretty often. At the end of the day, I understand why some people feel like they can find more opportunity and experiences elsewhere, but on the other hand, it's exactly what someone's looking for when they're trying to find "home".

Whether you love or hate living in Illinois, at least you know what it has to offer when you end up moving back. Just sayin'.
