Approximately 13 million people reside in Illinois. Of this number, 7.9 million of us are registered to vote. This is the highest number of registered voters in our state since 1970 during the Vietnam War when Richard Nixon was president. This number is expected to increase to over 8 million voters by election day on November 9th according to wifr.com.

Many people registered to vote over the weekend and their applications have not yet been processed. If you haven't registered to vote, please do so. And if you think you don't have a voice, you do. I encourage all of you to get out and vote. Just don't make the same mistake Justin Timberlake did and take a selfie while you do it... not like any of us have his selfie game anyway.
