Something doesn't smell right. Science says that sniffing farts is good for your health.

After you read this, the next time you pass gas, you might not be blaming it on the dog. I, on the other hand, immediately thought of my husband, who thinks it's so funny when he gives me a dutch oven every Sunday morning. It's a ritual. And I'm not referring to an actual dutch oven that you cook with. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's the act of trapping a person under bed covers after releasing vile posterior fumes.

A new study suggests that exposure to the gas that your body produces as bacteria breaks down food, could prevent mitochondria damage. Translation- smelling farts could prevent disease and cancer. Time reports that, "a whiff here and there has the power to reduce risks of cancer, strokes, heart attacks, arthritis, and dementia by preserving mitochondria."

I'll sniff to that.
