Abandoned Buildings

Some people say the Old Joliet Prison in Joliet, Illinois is incredibly haunted, and after seeing these pics of what it looks like today, it's hard not to agree.

Church School on Blaisdell Street in Rockford, Illinois has sat abandoned for 30 years, and this week it finally started coming down.

I'll bet I've driven past this once magnificent theater at least a hundred times and never knew it was there. It's like it's hiding in plain sight.

I'm not one to find many things disturbing on the internet anymore, but after I saw this abandoned place I got some hairs standing up on my arms.

Was it due to an unexpected family death or sudden financial shortfall that led to a $750,000 Illinois hunter's mansion to be abandoned? The reason remains a mystery, but explorers recently found a project car and stuffed bobcat left behind inside.

If zombies ever roamed Illinois, this abandoned neighborhood near Chicago would be the perfect place for them to call home.
