Cold

I don't know about you, but Thursday's temperature of 33 degrees made it feel to me like we'd hit the first day of Spring. Especially since many of us were shocked by the crazy cold temperatures we got on Wednesday.

Not to be confused with the Farmer's Almanac, which is the new kid on the block compared to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the Old Farmer's Almanac has, according to their website, been at this weather prediction game since 1792 (229 years). The Farmer's Almanac is the relative newcomer, publishing their first almanac in 1818, the year Illinois became a state.

We live in Northern Illinois, where we get freezing temperatures and plenty of snow. Some years are lighter in one or both of those occurrences, but we know we're still gonna get them both.

There's only one word to describe the forecast - rude. It's the type of weather where you walk outside to go to your car and your snot freezes. If you have any exposed skin, you better make that walk to your car a swift jog, because it's brutal outside...

Winter in Chicago is a whole different level of savage. From the cold, to the snow, to the wind, it's some intense weather.
