Exceptional care is closer than you think—Illinois hospitals are proving their worth with impressive ratings and dedicated service.

While some local hospitals are showcasing solid safety scores, others are grappling with new challenges that have us all concerned.

The latest hospital rankings show that Illinois facilities are not just good—they're among the best in the country, setting a high bar for care.

A new study released this week grades over 3,000 hospitals across the United States for safety on an A through F grading scale. Over 30 Illinois hospitals were on the receiving end of an A grade, although Illinois did have hospitals that got grades of B, C, D, and even one hospital got an F.

These 15 hospitals in Illinois drew high marks for not only safety, but for the overall "patient experience" in the 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Awards given by HealthGrades.com.
