No matter how you look at it, 35 percent is a huge number of small businesses that have either temporarily or permanently closed their doors because of COVID-19.
There was some concern that Illinois wouldn't follow along with the federal government in extending the tax deadline, but at the end of last week, Governor Pritzker decided to get on board the tax deadline extension bandwagon.
Even though Governor J.B. Pritzker is planning on making an announcement later this week about lifting further restrictions and reopening our state, don't start gathering up masks to throw out yet.
If that statement isn't bad enough, Illinois Policy reports that we've also lost three times as many residents in the last decade than any other state in the union.
Now that you've got masks that match up with all of your different outfits and moods, it would be a real shame to get rid of them wouldn't it? Don't worry. It's not going to happen anytime soon.
About the time they were deciding yesterday what the new mitigation efforts would be required for Winnebago and surrounding counties, Governor Pritzker's staff had their own COVID-related problem to deal with.
