It's a dangerous thing to draw conclusions too quickly. This is a perfect example. It is true the Sears just reopened two stores. Many now are speculating that the famous retailer could return to Illinois, but is there any truth to that thought? Not so fast.

On Sunday, the Sears store at Woodfield in Schaumberg closed their doors to customers for the very last time.

As Joe Dredge pointed out in his post yesterday, the last remaining Sears store in Illinois is closing. Their Schaumberg store, Illinois' last open Sears, is done in November.

Sears used to be the king of Chicago and Illinois, now it looks like the historic department store might be on its last legs.

The parent company of the Sears and Kmart chains announced another store closing, leaving Illinois with just one Kmart.

80 more Sears stores will be closing in 2019, including the store at CherryVale Mall.

Sears is closing 80 more stores and two are in Illinois. One such location just so happens to be at the CherryVale Mall.

The last standing Sears in Chicago said goodbye forever this Sunday.

Sears and Kmart have announced that over 100 Stores will be closing by the end of April and sadly, Rockford is on the closing list, liquidation sales will start on January 12th

A total of 78 Kmart and Sears stores will be closing this summer.
