Smishing

We can't have nice things at the holidays because of stuff like this.

Before we get into why you should be concerned and/or cautious about smishing, it might be a good idea to define the word for those who don't know a smish from a phish.

Another year, more problems, this one has been around for a while but officially has its own word.

Thanks to our friend Dennis Horton, Director of the Rockford Regional Office of the Better Business Bureau (BBB), we learned a new word this morning: Smishing.

This 'package pending' scam is brand new and it has nothing to do with any of your soon-to-be-arriving packages. It's all about stealing your personal data.
