Let's start by emphasizing how unpredictable weather in Missouri and Illinois is. Keep that in mind as I warn you to keep your eyes on the weather forecasts as we get closer to Thanksgiving as advanced forecasts show that could involve snow for both states right after the holiday.

That's the thing about winter in Northern Illinois--you know that we're going to get snowed on, you know that the first snow is potentially right around the corner, but you have no idea how much time you'll end up shoveling your driveway and sidewalk because you don't know how much snow you'll get.

It gets pretty old after a while, so of course I decided to make up different answers every time someone asks me, "Have you been to Chicago?"

It was only a week ago Wednesday that we Northern Illinois residents were flung headlong into the deep-freeze, with area temperatures dipping as low as -23 in places like Rochelle, while Rockford hit -19.

Over the weekend, the building we work in and broadcast from suffered some damage from a collapsed ceiling. No one was in the room where the damage took place, so we're beyond happy to report no injuries.
