You and your kids officially have no excuse for being bored this summer.

The Rockford Park District has released their Summer Sports book that perfectly compliments their Summer Camp Guide to make sure you can jam as much activity into this summer as possible.

People are getting vaccinated, masks are flying off, and people are chomping at the bit to get back out and do stuff. You'll want to lock down spots ASAP because they're sure to go fast.

There's A LOT more in the sports guide than I would have thought. There are also discounts and other special deals in the guide that can make this summer a little cheaper. Some of the programs in the guide:

  • Youth Dolphin Swim Club
  • Trampoline Park "Ninja" training
  • Archery Clinic
  • Swim Lessons
  • Pony Riding Camp
  • Horseback Riding Camp
  • Soccer Camp
  • Track Camp with the Rockford F.I.R.E.
  • Flag Football
  • Cheer and Dance Camp
  • Golf Camp
  • Volleyball Camp
  • Ice Skating/Hockey Camp
  • Ziplining
  • Wake Boarding

The Rockford Park District isn't just for kids. They have a robust adult summer program that includes:

  • Slo-pitch Softball Leagues
  • Volleyball Leagues
  • Golf Leagues and Lessons
  • Hockey Leagues

The Sports/activity guide also includes some exhibits planned for Nicholas Conservatory over the summer.

Still need something to do with the kids over the summer? Check out the summer camp guide. There are some awesome groups in there. Here's where you can let your kid explore nature while you go to work. It looks like my old summer camp, Camp Conestoga, is, unfortunately, no more. Instead, they have Nature Quest, which honestly sounds a lot cooler. I had an AWESOME time at summer camp, here's your chance to give your kids the same experience.
