I know plenty of people who love a good scare.  Illinois really knows how to lean into spooky season, too!

If you're on the hunt for something terrifying to do this year, you've got so many options around here.  I won't be participating, but you have fun getting scared!

Top Haunted Attractions in Illinois That’ll Keep You Up at Night

Let's start with drive-through haunted houses.  Yep, it's a thing.  You can stay in your car, but don't think you're safe.  Actors, fog, creepy lighting, music and jump scared come at you from every angle!

The classic haunted houses, too.  If you enjoy walking, and running, through pitch-black hallways, and dodging creepy characters, these haunted houses are must-visit this Halloween!

Haunted hayrides are another favorite.  Just picture yourself sitting on a wagon in the middle of nowhere, and all of a sudden, you're surrounded by zombies or chainsaw wielding clowns.  Good luck with that!

Illinois even has zombie hunts and zombie 5k runs.  You're either running from zombies, shooting them with lasers, or dodging paintballs.  This will get your heart, and feet, racing!

And, if you're ever wanted to try haunted corn mazes and haunted trails, now you can get lost in the middle of the dark at these places!

Whether you're into a good ol' fashioned haunted house, running from zombies, or trying to dodge a jump scare, there are so many haunted spots to check out around Illinois this spooky season.  You won't catch me at any of these, except Fright Fest at Six Flags Great America.  That's the only place I think I can handle without having a full-blown heart attack.
