I'm gonna lay it all on the line for you, I'm straight up sick of COVID-19. I'm tired of worrying about it. I've tired of hearing about it. I'm tired of it ruining people's health, businesses and livelihoods, but I also know it's not going away anytime soon.

I know we need to continue practicing social distancing, and I'm really trying to contain my frustration with life as we know it right now. That being said, I'm happy that Rockford businesses are able to begin reopening, but all the guidelines that our being put forth by our government and health departments are nothing short of confusing.

When I received the glorious phone call earlier this week from my friend and hairdresser saying the salon was reopening on Friday and that I could schedule an appointment, it was hard to contain my 'happy dance'...until she said "when you get here I need you to wear a mask and stay in your car until I call you to come inside".  Wait, what? It's not her fault, she's just following the rules, but it is so unreal to me that this is what life looks like right now.

To get a clear picture of what this reopening is going to look like, the City of Rockford  shared several graphics on Facebook yesterday to help clarify what is expected in Phase 3 of Illinois' reopening.

We all have to do our part to keep fellow community members safe, so please be understanding, and DO NOT take out your frustration on the employees of these businesses and services that are doing their best to follow the rules and guidelines.

If you can't be nice, just stay home. Please, and thank you. :)
