Gag Me With A Spoon? Totally 80s Dictionary

I was doing a little more learning how to walk in the 80s than hanging around high school, so I'm probably the least prepared for our Totally Retro Prom this May, but that might make me the most excited. I've got 9 1/2 weeks to figure all this stuff out and I'm starting by tackling 80s slang.

Maybe you also need a refresher on what "gag me with a spoon" means, because it does not, in fact, mean you should gag someone. Here are my 8 favorite 80s words and phrases that I plan on overusing until May 30.

• Totally. Which I totally already overuse. I totally think this one is a 2014 word, too.
• Tubular. Something very, very cool, no matter if it is shaped like a tube.
• Grody. Grody is so gross, it's beyond gross. It's grody.
• Stoked. I think surfers can still be stoked, meaning "so ready" to do something. Stoked for the waves, man.
• O-Rama. You're gonna want to add "o-rama" to something instead of saying "very" in front of it. Like she's a dork-o-rama. I think.
• Gag Me With a Spoon. Eww, I hate this, so I say, "gag me with a spoon." Used mostly by blondes with very high half ponytails. You may actually want to gag her with a spoon.
• To The Max! Taking something to utmost max level. Grody to the max, he's a total geek-o-rama. (I think I've got this.)
• Gnarly. Used mostly by surfers or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This is just another awesomely tubular way to say, it's cool.
