After the week of rainy and wet weather we've received in Rockford, I think the time is right for a little pick-me-up.

The Rainworks Art Project is a Seattle based group of artists who draw on the often wet sidewalks of the city in order to give people that walk them an uplifting or fun message.

According to Trendhunter, the artists use "a superhydrophobic coating that is both biodegradable and safe for the environment."

The art lasts "between four months and a year, depending on the amount of foot traffic the particular route garners."

I think we need to start this in Rockford. Stateline artists, get to work!
