Young Illinois Girl Writes To DC Comics About Lack Of Female Superheroes So They Turned Her Into One

11-year-old Rowan Hansen, from Champaign, loves comics. She did have a problem though, not enough female superheroes.

You know what? She's right.

Despite the millions of dollars the Marvel and DC movies have made it seems that there is a lack of leading female characters in those franchises.

The same would go for any young woman looking to buy toys based on the movies and comics.

She took DC Comics to task and sent them a letter asking why?

Hansen raises some great questions and DC did not shy away from answering them.

The Today show also did an interview with Hansen and her parents about her quest to find more female superheroes.
