Teacher of the Week: Dr. Lipton from Keith Country Day School

Congratulations to our teacher of the week, Dr. Lipton from Keith Country Day School.

Dr. Lipton scored cupcakes from Sugar Jones, flowers from Broadway Florist, and $50 in services from Xeno Salon & Day Spa.

The winning submission came from Michael Von Driska. He tells 97ZOK:

Dr. Lipton is the most dedicated teacher I have ever had. She has worked hard in the field of science. She has a PhD in Biochemistry. She currently teaches me sophomore chemistry, but she also teaches Algebra II, Biology, AP Biology and AP Chemistry to the rest of the high school. She is always prepared to teach the class, despite her break rarely being before 1pm. She also cleans up the science lab after many classes, because the class periods are only 40 minutes long, and she wants us to have as much time to learn as possible. She works extremely hard, and in my 2 years going to Keith School, she has NEVER graded a test later than the day after we took it. Dr. Lipton also regularly helps us with our work out of class. I am amazed by her ability to be there to help 24/7, while she maintains such a full schedule. She does all this while being the mother of two of my classmates, who both play volleyball and often need to be driven around. She even plans amazing trips for her students. Last summer, she arranged for a trip to Montana with some of her students, myself included. We went there for a week to dig for fossils, and found the bones of a triceratops and an edmontosaurus. In the past she has even taken students to the Galapagos Islands.
I can only imagine how many hours of sleep Dr. Lipton has sacrificed to put towards her teaching. My classmates and I often talk about how Dr. Lipton could teach every class if only she could be cloned. There are really no words to describe her excellence as a teacher, and if any educator deserves to be recognized for their skills and dedication, the teacher is Dr. Lipton."
