Teacher of the Week: Mrs. Foster, Genoa-Kingston High School

Congratulations to our newest ‘Teacher of the Week,’ Mrs. Foster from Genoa-Kingston High School.

Mrs. Foster got hooked up with cupcakes from Sugarjones, flowers from Broadway Florists, and $50 in services from Xeno Salon & Spa.

The winning nomination came from Zach Billyard, Zach writes:

Mrs. Foster teaches a self-contained special education class for students with low incidence disabilities. On a daily basis, she motivates her students to learn, participate, and have as much social interaction as possible.

Mrs. Foster brings her students to fun and worthwhile places in the community to give them the opportunity to explore and learn. She has also set up a peer mentoring program for typical students to get the opportunity to work one on one with her students, which gives more opportunities for much needed social interactions with her students. She also teaches daily living skills that the students need such as cooking, shopping, balancing a check book, among other things for them to take into their future lives.

All in all, she has a tremendous heart and is dedicated completely to benefiting her students.
