Thanksgiving foods are super delicious, but not for your pets, especially if they eat these 6 foods.

Thanksgiving is a big food holiday so there's a chance you want to share your delicious side dishes with your dog, because you know, it's a holiday. But you probably shouldn't.

According to WGN-TV, there are 6 Thanksgiving foods that are very dangerous if your pet gets a hold of them.

  1. Ham. I've never eaten ham at any of my 28 Thanksgiving dinners, but I guess some people. Keep the ham and all other pork products away from your pet.
  2. Stuffing. It's not the bread that can harm your animals, but onions and garlic are extremely toxic to them.
  3. Mashed potatoes. Again, not the actual potatoes that are going to make your animal sick but the add-ins, like onions/onion power or garlic. Also your pet might be dairy sensitive.
  4. Turkey bones. Bones can give your pet indigestion and also there's a chance the bones can break and end up hurting your pet.
  5. Salads. Not your regular dinner salad, but if your salad has grapes or raisins in it, they are deadly to dogs and cats.
  6. Chocolate. This is the easiest one to remember, but basically they added this to the list in case you have out of town guests that don't know chocolate is dangerous to pets.
