The dream of back-to-back Stanley Cups ended last night in overtime for the Chicago Blackhawks.

The L.A. Kings defeated the Blackhawks 5-4 after a deflected puck skittered over Corey Crawford's right shoulder to send the Kings to the Stanley Cup Final.

As a huge Blackhawks fan, watching them rally all the way back to force a game 7, only to lose in overtime, ranks as one of my top Chicago sports disappointments of all time.

Regardless, the Blackhawks had a great season. They came up just a bit short, the players and their fans are going to feel the sting of last night's defeat until next season.

There are right ways to talk with friends and co-workers about the game, here are seven things not to say to Blackhawks fans today.

  1. "The Kings were the better team, the Hawks shouldn't have even taken it to a game 7."
  2. "The Hawks wouldn't have beaten New York in the Stanley Cup Final anyway."
  3. "Corey Crawford is bad."
  4. "Your team won the Cup last year."
  5. "Good timing really. Jonathan Toews and the rest of the team really needed to shave."
  6. "There is a huge kegger at UW next week and Patrick Kane was invited. Now he can go."
  7. "At least you have the Cubs."
