8 of Illinois’ Top 10 Baby Girl Names End in the Same Letter

We're about a fourth of the way through 2022 and we're already talking about the hottest baby names of the year, the girls names seem to have a lot in common. 

I'm not sure why we're talking about the most popular baby names in Illinois for the year in March already... I'm also not sure if it's ok to say 'hottest baby names,' but well, I typed that so let's just go with it.

Obviously when we say 'hot names,' we mean popular not more attractive...

The trendy baby name list comes from Names.org, who take in Society Security Administration data to tell us about the top baby names from each state as well as Nationally. 

When we look at the top baby names in Illinois the girl names have a LOT in common. Eight of the top ten end in an 'A.'

The boys names' have much less in common.

10 Most Popular Names for Girls in Illinois in 2022:

4. Charlotte
5. Sophia
6. Ava
7. Evelyn
8. Camila
9. Mia
10. Isabella

10 Most Popular Names for Boys in Illinois in 2022:

1. Noah
2. Liam
3. Oliver
4. Benjamin
5. Mateo
6. Theodore
7. Henry
8. Jack
9. William
10. James

Nationally Liam takes the top spot for boys and Olivia remain in first place on the girls side.

The most interesting name on the Illinois lists is Camila, which is NOT in the top ten Nationally but ranks 8th in our state.
