As a devoted moviegoer (yes, I'm a big movie nerd). I rarely complain about the film experience.

However, a recent trip to AMC Showplace 16 in Rockford left me feeling like I wasn't getting the total value for my ticket.

Meet cute? Not so much

My day at the movies was a struggle before reaching the popcorn.

QR code woes and concession stand sticker shock are industry-wide dilemmas, but that doesn't make them any less frustrating.

What truly sealed the deal for a rough experience were the seats at Showplace 16.

Compared to the luxurious recliners at AMC Woodfield, Rockford's red nightmares felt like punishment, not a place to enjoy a flick. A good cleaning wouldn't hurt either.
