What do you get when you cross a Murder House with a collection of Coven witches? An upcoming American Horror Story season, show creator Ryan Murphy's confirmed.

AHS, which is in the thick of its sixth season, Roanokewill go back in time for a forthcoming storyline, Murphy said Sunday (October 30) at Entertainment Weekly's PopFest. The show's seventh season was confirmed earlier in October, but Murphy said the special event will debut later on in the series.

"We do know what we’re going to do,” Murphy said. “"There will be characters from Murder House and characters from Coven together...I’ve [already] started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, ‘I think in this window, if you could fit us in.' So yeah, it’s fun. It’s weird."

Murder House, AHS's debut season, premiered in October 2011, and followed the Harmon Family (led by actors Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott) as they confronted demons that haunted their new Los Angeles home. Coven, the third AHS season, ran through the end of 2013, and followed a group of Salem witches who had to fight to survive in New Orleans.

EW reports that a crowd cheered wildly at the Ryan Murphy and Friends panel's announcement, and the excitement carried over to Twitter, where the show's followers endorsed the idea for the new season.

Happy Halloween, indeed.
