Aftershock: noun, "a major shocking after hearing there was a minor earthquake in northern Illinois."
Did anyone else not hear about this? Perhaps it wasn't felt because what we thought was making the earth shake was the loud clashes of thunder from the storm that rolled through the state line early Wednesday morning.
According to WQOW, a sister station of WREX, "A small earthquake struck northern Illinois early Wednesday morning, sending shock waves out as far away as Michigan and Iowa."
The quake, which caused beds to shake and wall decorations to rattle in Rock County, measured 3.8 on the Richter scale.
