Attention Illinois Portillo’s Lovers: Here’s How to Get Free Fries

We know you love Portillo's French fries... but did you know you could get them for free?

Ok, by now you probably know that I love a good cheese fry in my life. And my favorite cheese fries are from Portillo's.

It's because the very first cheese fries I ever ate in my life were from Portillo's, it was the 'fancy' fast food option in my family when I was growing up in the suburbs of Chicago.

So I was just as excited as everyone else when we got a Portillo's here in Rockford.

And... when I've had a fun night on a Friday or a Saturday you will find me in the Portillo's drive-thru line the next day.

I pretty much always order the same thing, a chopped salad with no cheese and no onion and a large cheese fry.

On Sunday, I was sitting at my counter eating my fries when I realized that there was a long paragraph on the bottom on my receipt.

The one word that stood out to me... free.

Ok you have my attention receipt.

Digging deeper... or in this case, reading the entire receipt, I saw that there was an offer for free fries on my next order.

Eating my fries, reading the receipt I thought to myself, I bet this is on all my receipts and I'm just here paying for my fries. Whoops.
