Three of America’s Top Taco Spots are in Illinois

Regarding tacos, it looks like we’ve got the goods in Illinois.

Yelp released a list of the 100 best taco joints in America and three of those places are in The Land of Lincoln.

Considering how few Midwest taco restaurants are represented overall on this list makes me think we’ve got a few standout places to choose from.

#22 on the list out of 100 is Edgewater Tacos.

Located at 5624 North Broadway in Chicago, TripAdvisor reviewer, cro722 said “the steak and fish tacos are the best in the city” while adding “real Mexican food in the windy city.”

Next up, #28 Del Seoul.

Tiff Lara on Google Reviews says “Super good food, I was really impressed by it. I always see people there which means they are doing something right. I loved it.”

Del Seoul is located at 2568 North Clark Street in Chicago.

Lastly, Quesabirria Jalisco Tacos ranked #94.

Yelpster Raul M. reviewed the place and said “The tacos were crispy/hearty, consome flavorful, and salsas were done right. Green salsa had a kick like it’s supposed to and the other one had a hint of sweetness which complemented the tacos.”

Quesabirria Jalisco can be found at 1314 West 18th Street in Chicago.

For my money, the best place for tacos (and burritos) in Illinois is Mini Palapita at 4968 North Elston. I grew up eating at Palapita’s in Chicago and this one is still the goods.
