Blink and You’ll Miss a Chance to Scope Out Illinois’ Tiniest Town
When there are only 13 people who live in a town, it's real easy to assign blame.
If they're carrying on into the wee hours or mowing their lawn in the early morning you'll have a good idea who might be the guilty party.
WELCOME TO THE TINIEST TOWN IN ILLINOIS
When you live in a town of 13 everyone has to pitch in. One person is the mayor, another the garbageman. Someone else is the cable installer. Then there's Bill, he's the accountant. Not very trustworthy, but what are you going to do when you live in a town this small?
Those are only hypothetical situations I laid out above. The only thing I know for sure is Valley City, Illinois is the tiniest town in all of Illinois.
Regarding Valley City, House Beautiful says "There are just three families that make up this tiny village."
VALLEY CITY: POPULATION YOU
Located in Pike County, the population of Valley City has been dwindling. 40 years ago, Valley City was the home to 60 people. Since then they have lost 47 folks.
I'm not sure how that happened, but it doesn't look like Valley City is going to make a big comeback any time soon.
A flood a few years back was the only thing notable to have happened in Valley City.
If you're interested in hitting up Illinois' tiniest town be aware, you'll probably spend more time in your vehicle than you will in town.
Roughly four hours from Rockford, this could be the ultimate "I'm totally bored and decided to drive for hours just because" road trip.
