Burpee To Offer Educators A Limited Number Of Virtual Field Trips
Thanks to donations from foundations and other people, the Burpee Museum of Natural History has made a limited number of virtual field trips free for teachers and students in the Rockford area.
Here's how it works, Rockford area teachers can use Zoom, Google Meets or a private Facebook group to get into the "museum."
From there, a 30-45 minute live stream field trip will take place, with interactive exhibits for students, along with a question and answer session.
It appears there are 5 different types of field trips teachers can take their students on, featuring:
- Biology
- Paleontology
- Geology
- Anthropology
- Ecology & Environmental Sciences
There is something for everyone starting at three-years-old up to high school students.
There will also be pre-recorded versions of each virtual field trip by request.
If you want to schedule your class for a virtual tour of Burpee, email nicole.hayes@burpee.org.
