Carly Rae Jepsen, Fifth Harmony + Nick Jonas to Perform at 2017 NHL All-Star Game
You may feel confident in the assessment that sports and pop music will never co-exist harmoniously, but based on the forthcoming 2017 NHL All-Star Game lineup, you'd be horribly wrong.
The event — which takes place on Sunday, January 29, at Los Angeles’s Staples Center — will feature performances from Carly Rae Jepsen, Fifth Harmony and Nick Jonas. Jepsen will be on hand to sing the Canadian National Anthem which will be followed by the new-and-improved girl group Fifth Harmony, who are set to perform “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Jonas will perform later in the game, according to Billboard, during the event’s second intermission.
NHL chief content officer and executive vice president Steve Mayer released a statement about the forthcoming game, saying, "We are pleased with the incredible lineup of entertainment that we put together for the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend.
"The All-Star Weekend will feature three days of can’t-miss events, including the NHL100 celebration on Friday night, in a weekend where hockey takes over Hollywood," Mayer's statement continued. "We are excited for Nick Jonas, Fifth Harmony and Carly Rae Jepsen’s All-Star Game performances for our fans in L.A and those watching around the world.”
The NHL All-Star Weekend (which spans January 26 to January 29) fun doesn’t stop there — actor Jon Hamm will host the NHL100 gala, meant to honor "the league’s 100 greatest athletes of all time,” and will also be attended by John Legend, John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting and Robin Thicke, who is set to honor his late father, Alan Thicke.
Tune in to NBC to watch the 2017 NHL All-Star Game on Sunday, January 29, at 3:30PM EST.
