Chris Rock Standup Tour Adds an Extra Illinois Show Due to High Demand
Who knew getting slapped in front of millions of people would turn into such a windfall of demand?
The fact is, Chris Rock was going on a world tour, one that comedy and Chris Rock fans knew all about.
Then there's the general public. The same kind of people who pay attention to what's happening in pop culture and that's about it.
Then there's this, Chris Rock's Ego Death World Tour was selling just fine in Chicago. He already had three dates scheduled at the Chicago Theatre for October.
Because I swim in the same pool as the general public, I was interested to see if Chris Rock was on tour or planning one. When I saw he already had been out across America, I checked into his Chicago dates.
Rock was scheduled to perform on Thursday, October 13, Friday, October 14, and Saturday, October 15.
Today, nearly all three are sold out, and the remaining single-seat tickets go for about $500 a pop.
Now Rock has added a fourth show in Chicago, Sunday, October 16, and tickets are going fast.
In case you're keeping score, Chris Rock got slapped on live TV and is now selling out his stand-up tour. The slapper, Will Smith, is looking at getting suspended by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
What a weird timeline.
