I'm sure Chris Rock didn't consider it could be one of the best things for his career the moment he was slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars but you can't argue with the facts.

Then there's the general public. The same kind of people who pay attention to what's happening in pop culture and that's about it.

Then there's this, Chris Rock's Ego Death World Tour was selling just fine in Chicago. He already had three dates scheduled at the Chicago Theatre for October.

Rock was scheduled to perform on Thursday, October 13, Friday, October 14, and Saturday, October 15.

When I looked the day after "The Slap," there were tickets available for all three nights. A few days later his Thursday show was sold out and tickets were starting to move quickly on the other two.

Today, nearly all three are sold out, and the remaining single-seat tickets go for about $500 a pop.

Now Rock has added a fourth show in Chicago, Sunday, October 16, and tickets are going fast.

In case you're keeping score, Chris Rock got slapped on live TV and is now selling out his stand-up tour. The slapper, Will Smith, is looking at getting suspended by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

What a weird timeline.
